BAPTISM: Johann Wilhelm von Campen, son of Hans Jost von [Campen] (Christine's father)
Transcript carried from the Chapter 2 entries list (Wesemann_Origins_Ch2_Entries, now archived). Readings are as recorded there; not re-read on the image for this file.
Transcription (original language)
[1/10?] Aug. abends gegen 6 Uhr ist Hans Jost von [underlined surname, not read letter by letter] ein Sohn geboren, welcher d. 6 ejus getaufft. Gevattern waren [...] Albrecht [...] und [...] Albrecht [...], die das Kind genannt Joh. Wilh[elm?].
Translation (English)
In early August 1717, about 6 in the evening, a son was born to Hans Jost von [Campen]; baptized on the 6th(?). Two godparents were Albrechts. The child was named Joh. Wilh[elm].
Notes
Read the underlined surname, the day and the Albrecht sponsors. The same opening probably holds the 4 Aug 1717 Westermann entry, the 22 Oct 1717 Joh.
Transcription (German)
[Archion machine text, Bild 25 (printed pp. 247–248):] baptisms of July–September 1717 in running text: "d 22 July abends gegen 10 Uhr ist ... ein Söhnlein gebohren, welches d 25 getaufft ..."; entries of 22 July (a son), 27 July (a daughter, baptized 30), 10 August (evening about 6, "Herr Westerman" [?]) and 7bris.
Translation (English)
Bild 25 holds pp. 247–248; the August 1717 entry above is on p. 248, so on Bild 25.
Notes
The Bild was an estimate (~26); the printed page numbers put p. 248 on Bild 25, and the file is renamed (Decided, Paul, 15 October 2026). The machine text does not show the von Campen entry clearly; it is POSSIBLE at most.
Transcription (German)
[p. 248, lower part:] 10 Aug. abends gegen 6 Uhr ist [Hans?] Jost [Von Cam(pen), underlined] im [Söhnl./Töchterl.?] geboren, welches d. [1]6[?] ejus. getaufft. Gevattern waren [Jost] Mattias Albrecht ... Hans Albrecht ... und das Kind genannt [illegible].
Translation (English)
10 August [1717], at about 6 in the evening, a [son?] was born to [Hans?] Jost [von Campen], baptized on the [16th or 26th]; sponsors [Jost] Mattias Albrecht, Hans Albrecht and others; the child's name is not legible.
Notes
The baptism day cannot be the 6th (before the birth). The child's name, which would settle whether this is Johann Wilhelm, is not legible. The August 1717 date for Johann Wilhelm stays PROBABLE (index); 17 March 1718 is the alternative (Register_Extract_Baptisms_1718_Joh_Wilhelm). No further check.
