English
No. 7. Linse, 10 May. The bachelor Johann Heinrich Wasmann of Tuchtfeld, legitimate son left behind by the late Harm Christoph Wasmann, former hereditary juror (Erbschöffe) there, and Marie Sophie, née Marahrens, widow left behind by the late Heinrich Harm Sagebiel, former half-farmer (Halbmeyer) in Linse.
Notes
> This groom is the Leibzüchter, not the miller. The 1785 burial of his son at Bild 255 of register 390648 names him Jo. Heinr. Wasmanns, und Leibzüchters, which settles it. A bachelor of about thirty in 1759 fits Johann Heinrich Waßmann, Leibzüchter at Linse, born about 1729 and buried 29 November 1805. > > The consequence for Chapter 1: Harm Christoph Wasmann, Erbschöffe at Tuchtfeld, is the Leibzüchter's father, not the miller's. He belongs in the companion index rather than in Georg's pedigree. > > Corrections from an earlier pass: the bride's maiden name is Marahrens, not the earlier guess Catharine, which was not a surname at all but a misread insertion. Her late first husband's surname reads clearly as Sagebiel, not Selbild(?). > > The Sagebiel household recurs in this register at Match 17 (1776, Jo. Christoph Sagebiel at Wegensen) and in the burial register at Bild 217, entry 5 (Hermann Christoph Sagebiel, Linse, 1769). Marrying a Halbmeyer's widow ties this household to the Linse Halbmeyer tenancy directly.
