1\. Find the 18 August 1903 arrival of Nicholas Krauser, aged 21, on the Kaiser Wilhelm II at New York (Ellis Island passenger record), for his last residence and the person he joined.
2\. Look up the Szerb-Kanad (Torontál) Catholic baptism register for 12 February 1882 (Hungary, Catholic Church Records on FamilySearch, place Szerb-Kanad / Srpski Kanad), to test the Krauser baptism. Free; finish line: entry read or "register not online".
Plain reading
Nicholas Krauser, a carpenter, declared his intention in Philadelphia on 27 July 1908 and petitioned on 14 February 1911. Both papers give his birth as 12 February 1882 at a Hungarian place spelled "Szerb Ganad" (1908) and "Szerb Kanad" (1911), which fits Szerb-Kanad, the Banat village later called Srpski Kanad / Sárafalva in the Chapter 5 notes (identification not checked here). His wife Katie was born at Lovrin, which ties him to the Lovrin line of Chapter 5. He sailed from Bremen on the Kaiser Wilhelm II and landed at New York on 18 August 1903.
Notes
Wife's birthplace Lovrin: STATED, given in the same petition.
Conflicts noted: Birthplace "Szerb Ganad" (declaration) against "Szerb Kanad [?]" (petition) against the index "Szerb Ganga": one place, three spellings. A Hungary Catholic baptism index row XZ65-LHD ("Krauser Miklos", 1883, Kis-Szigeth, Torontál; parents Antal Krauser and Terez Balthazar) surfaced; it is not linked to him and differs in year (1883 against 1882) and place. Not accepted as his baptism.
