The record

Document: U.S. Navy Muster Roll of the Crew (form NAVPERS-605A), USS LCI(L) 1065, quarter ending 30 June 1944, with the Fold3 citation page.

Language: English

Transcription conventions: typed and pre-printed text is set in roman; handwritten entries and marks are set in \italic\. Square brackets mark editorial matter: [?] follows an uncertain reading, [illegible] marks unread text, [blank] marks an unfilled field, and bracketed descriptions record stamps, check marks, and strike-throughs. Service numbers, ratings, abbreviations, and spacing follow the original exactly; nothing is corrected. Unused numbered lines are summarised rather than listed.

Transcriber’s notes

25 men are listed, all received on board 16 May 1944 except Dineen and Squitiere (17 May 1944) and Nashlon (26 June 1944). This matches the two Reports of Changes.

Dineen’s enlistment day is typed 23 here but 21 on the May and June Reports of Changes and on the September muster roll; transcribed as typed.

“Raymind” (Wade) is typed as shown; the September roll gives “Raymond Leroy”.

John J. Moore’s enlistment year reads 1944 (1 Oct. 1944), which postdates this roll. The September roll overtypes the same year. Transcribed as typed.

Vandegrift’s service number reads 838 46 37 here and 838 46 87 on the September roll.

Kempf and Schulman have day and month typed together across the column rule.
