Entries with the surname Davis (relation to head of institution: "ward")

Halis E. Davis — ward; F, W, 4, single; born Pennsylvania; father born "Unknown" (mother tongue Welsh); mother born England (English); none

Winifred [?] A. Davis — ward; F, W, 5, single; born Pennsylvania; father Unknown (Welsh); mother England; none

Further Davis wards (Donald A., James F., Carl W., Arthur E.) follow with other birthplaces and are not transcribed. Chapter 9 identifies these as David James Davis's children by Harriet Adelaide Parrish, sent to Mooseheart in August 1918 after their father's 1916 suicide: David M. is David Wassell Davis, Thelma G. is Thelma Adelaide Davis, and Winifred A. is Winifred Anne Davis. Halis E., age 4, matches the age of Gladys Elsie Davis, born 28 February 1915, and is most likely the same child under a misread name.
