Anthony and Kitty, 1953 to 1974
In 1953 Anthony married Catherine Theresa (“Kitty”) Hanlon (1920 to 2002), joining the Italian Squitieres to the Irish Hanlons and McCauleys. Three years earlier, at 29 and unmarried, she had been living in her parents’ house in Philadelphia. Her birth and her family’s story are told in the Hanlon Family section. In the mid-1950s Anthony and Kitty lived at 2220 Pierce Street, a few doors from his father’s house at 2226. It was to this house that Kitty’s father, Charles Hanlon, made his way home on the night in December 1955 when he was fatally beaten (see Hanlon Family).
Anthony died in November 1974, aged 54. His Social Security claim was received at the Philadelphia Northeast field office on 9 January 1975. Kitty died on 22 June 2002, and they are buried together at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, Bucks County.
They had six children. Five of them are living and are not named here.

The family is known from its own account and from Mary Ellen’s obituary, published by the King Funeral Service on 17 July 2021. It names her four sisters and her brother, with three of the sisters’ husbands and her brother’s wife. It calls her parents “Hank Squitiere and Kitty (Hanlon) Squitiere.” No other record calls Anthony “Hank.” Her former husband, Timothy Paris, had died before her.
